Year 7 & 8 Coordinators Message

As we near the end of another busy school year, we are provided with an opportunity to reflect on our successes and challenges along the way. This term, on the 21st of November, Meadow Fair campus celebrated this success at our annual awards ceremony, held at Serenity reception. The event served to acknowledge and celebrate the academic success of our students as well as to reward our boys for showing exemplary behaviour. Also, the awards ceremony entertained parents and students with an impressive showcase of our students’ outstanding talents in music and drama. Led by our music teacher, Mr. Christian Prochilo, the Meadow Fair band performed songs by the likes of The Red Hot Chili Peppers as well as the theme from The Avengers. Our year 8 Drama students, who have spent months preparing with their drama teacher, Ms Emel Sener, delighted the crowd with their captivating performance titled Talk Show.

This year has been a productive year for our years 7 and 8 students and it has been a pleasure as their coordinator to witness the growth and development of these students, as they grow into mature young men. As I write this, it is hard to believe that the 2019 school year is drawing to a close. It really does feel like only yesterday that I was welcoming our years 7 and 8 cohorts to school, helping them get set up with their lockers, and in the case of the year 7’s, preparing for the year 7 camp. Whilst the journey that we have been on together this year has featured all of the inevitable ups and downs of school life, I have seen our students take this in their stride as they have let their positive and mature nature shine through.

I would like to wish all students and their families a safe and relaxing summer break. I look forward to seeing all of our students returning energised and ready to take on the challenges of the 2020 Sirius College school year.
